Today, after my sons' swimming lessons at Beatty Park, we went to the most famous place for roasted duck in Perth for lunch. I found out about this place from someone's blog. The restaurant is situated in William Street, Northbridge. It was said that this restaurant has the nicest duck in Perth.
10/05: Apples and Almond Tea Cake
Today the 10th May 2009 (Mother's day), I begin my quest to make an apple and almond tea cake. The cake was very easy to make. You will need
- 2 tablespoons of butter,
- ½ cup of sugar,
- 2 eggs,
- ½ cup of milk,
- 1 cup of flour,
- 1 ¼ teaspoons of baking powder,
- a pinch of salt,
- 2 apples cut into small pieces, and
- flaked almonds.
Every time during my son's meal time he must have this show on - then he will sit down on his small blue chair and cheerfully finished his food. It was my dad who bought this DVD for my older son. After a few times watching it my younger son had claimed ownership of it. How wonder how he did it?
22/03: Blackmores Daycare Defence
Recently I bought the Blackmores Daycare Defense from Pharmacy Direct for my younger son who is 2 years and 8 months. I was hoping that it would boost his immune system. The supplement claims that it will "reduce the frequency and severity of colds and reduce the duration and frequency of diarrhoea."
On the 22nd of February this year (2009), I got to teach Malay Language online to someone living in Miri, Sarawak, originally from New York. We do live in a very small world! I got this online job through a Language Direct School in Basel, Switzerland. You are able to learn about 40 languages from this school. They have all the qualified teachers online.
20/03: ZOOB
My older son received a 125-piece zoob building set from his grandmother one birthday. Zoob consists of different pieces which can be joined together in many ways. You need to use your creativity to snap, click and pop them together to make models of dinosaurs, robots, cars, planes and so on. My sons love to make guns out of the zoob. Since I forbid them from having toy guns at home, they decided to make some themselves.
19/03: My Aching Jaw (Part 3)
After one year my GP, Dr. Robinson, decided to refer me to a Orofacial Pain doctor, Dr. Robert Delcano, who works in the St. John of God Hospital, Subiaco Clinic. Dr. Delcano is intensely interested in temporomandibular (TMJ) disorders and orofacial pain. My first appointment with him was on the 26th of February, 2009. After seeing numerous dentists and doctors I really don't have the confidence that this doctor can help me. But my husband told just go and see him and see what he says.
Recently my younger son has began to love his dinosaur book. He called the dinosaur a dog. I guess because the word dog has only one syllable and dinosaur has three syllables, making it a harder word to pronounce for a boy of his age (2 years).
17/03: An Unexpected Meeting
On Sunday, we decided to get some take-away food from a Chinese restaurant in Subiaco. This shop is located along a quiet unpopulated small lane in Subiaco. I was too tired to cook after a trip to Mandurah to a gathering of almost all of husband's family. It was a good time of chatting and catching up with each other during the happy event - but also very tiring.
On Labour Day (March 2nd, 2009) we brought our kids to visit the Aviation Heritage Museum in Bull Creek, Western Australia. They loved it. The museum is situated at the Air Force Memorial Estate on Bull Creek Drive, Bull Creek. The museum is open from Monday to Friday, from 10.00am to 4.00pm except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Good Friday and New Years Day.
